April 24, 1926 ~ September 21, 2023 The family is having a graveside service for her on Friday, September 29th at 2 pm at Memorial Cemetery. Close friends are invited. Helen Aileen Neufeld (Barnes) was born April 24, 1926 on the family farm at Elnora, Alberta to Charles Allen Barnes (always known as John) and Katherine Kennedy Barnes (Kirkwood). She grew up with three sisters, Dorothy, Kay (Katherine) and Jean, and two brothers, Allen and Jack (John). Together they shared many adventures and a lot of love. School started on horseback to Lakeview School about a mile and a half away. High school was completed in Elnora and then Helen attended University of Calgary where she received a teaching certificate. Helen taught at several one room schools, but she found…

Donna Marlene Schmuland 1945 ~ 2023 Heaven gained a beautiful soul when Donna Schmuland entered God's paradise on September 16, 2023, after a courageous ten year battle with cancer. Her zest for life, kindness and interest in all of those around her will stay in the hearts of those who knew her forever. She lived with gusto, and a huge love of family. Donna's husband "Deery" Ray; son Ray Jr.; daughter-in-law Rose; grandsons Jordan and Justin were her world, as she shared her love of them with all. Travel, volunteering, leading activities at church, and visiting friends were a huge part of her life, and the outpouring of love her family has had is a testament to the positive impact she has had on so many. Grace Lutheran Church, 4218 - 56 Avenue, Wetaskiwin, is hosting a CELEBRATION SUNDAY, on Sunday, September 10, 2023, to honor PASTOR FRED SCHNEIDER on his 65th birthday (Sept. 13) and his 33 years of ministerial service. Come and join us for: #1 - an outdoor worship service (weather permitting) at 10:30 AM #2 - Potluck luncheon to follow service #3 - open-mic program at 1:00 PM OR ALL OF THE ABOVE. A special cake cutting and serving will culminate the day.
