Hildegard (Hilda) Karlo August 3, 1924 to May 19, 2024 (age 99) Hilda Karlo (nee Kurtz) passed away on May 19, 2024 and has been reunited with the love of her life, Ed Karlo. She is survived by her daughter, Evelyn (Eric) Heilman; grandchildren, Raeleen (Brent) Metzker and Trent (Nicole) Heilman; great-granddaughters, Peyton, Kali, Shaylan and Taylor as well as her sisters, Lily (Howard) Smith, Margaret Forth and Eleanor Pydde. Hilda was born in Ludwipol, Poland, now Ukraine, on August 3, 1924 to Emil and Amalja Kurtz. The family emigrated to Canada in 1927 where they settled in the Kavanagh area. They purchased a quarter section of land West of Millet in the Porto Bello area and built a small, two room cabin which they moved into in 1930. She…

It is with great sadness and much love that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Rene Thompson. On April 19, at the age of 88 years, she entered into rest after a courageous battle with cancer. Rene will be deeply missed by her daughters, Carolyn (Wayne) Wait, Shelley (Don) Bisset, Susan (Dale) Woitt, and Janet (Darren) Ware; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, as well as extended relatives and friends. Elsie Feldberg November 18, 1932 - January 18, 2024 On January 18, 2024 Freida “Elsie” Feldberg (nee Kurtz) passed away at the Wetaskiwin Hospital at the age of 91. It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Raymond E. Woitt in Wetaskiwin on January 12, 2024 at the age of 87 years. He was predeceased by his son, Jeff. Raymond will be sadly missed by his wife, Joan; son,  Ken (Pat); grandsons, Dan (Sam) and Mike (Bella) great grandchildren, Daxton, Peyton, Ellie and Bennett as well as many extended family members, good friends and neighbors. Hilda Irene Dewald November 23, 1928 ~ October 9, 2023 (age 94) Hilda Irene Dewald entered her eternal rest on Thanksgiving Day, Monday, October 9, 2023 at the age of 94. She was born on November 23, 1928 in Wetaskiwin, Alberta.  She was the second daughter of Alex and Lydia Woitt.  She grew up on her Mom and Dad’s farm 8 miles west of Wetaskiwin.  Her early years were typical of farm life at that time.  Her mornings started by bringing in wood for the stove.  In the summer she would be found in the vegetable garden picking peas or beans.  She attended school at Bigstone School where she made many lifelong friends.  She learned to play the piano and music would become a lifelong passion for her.  Her leisure time was spent…

Ruby Henriette Faille April 1, 1937 – September 28, 2023   On September 28, 2023 at 11:30 p.m., Ruby succumbed to her long battle with cancer. Ruby Faille was born to John and Pearl Berezon (predeceased) in Vegreville, Alberta, where she grew up and went to school. She had one brother, Bunny (Genie, predeceased) Berezon. In 1956 she was married in Vegreville, where she had 4 children; Jerome Bohaychuk, JoAnne Bohaychuk, John Bohaychuk, and Janice Nowochin. The family moved to Thompson, Manitoba in 1966 where her last child, Jackie Miller, was born. In 1974 her family grew with the addition of the first grandchild, Jenn Bohaychuk. She grew up with three sisters, Dorothy, Kay (Katherine) and Jean, and two brothers, Allen and Jack (John). Together they shared many adventures and a lot of love.
